Get to Know the Driver

There is no doubt about it! Matt’s love for the race scene started at a very young age and has grown in intensity each and every year.

Photo of Matt Greiner Matt started racing go karts at the age of 12 and raced them until he was 15. At age 16 he drove his first stock car and started racing full time at the age of 18 in the hobby stock class. In his first year matt received Columbus Junction Raceway Rookie of the Year along with 2nd place in points and lost the championship by only 1 point.

The following year, Matt raced in the Stock Car class full time. In 2003, he pulled off a track championship at not only one track but two~ Columbus Junction and West Liberty!! At West Liberty he won the championship without winning a feature race, he won by being consistent. During this time he also slipped in some track time at Hawkeye Downs on the asphalt and attended a variety of specials throughout Iowa and Missouri.

In 2004 and 2005, Matt started racing at new tracks and fell into running full time with the United States Racing Association (USRA). He won many heat races and an occasional feature running with some of the top local racers in the stock car division. 2005 ended with a lot of gained knowledge and an appreciation for racing dedication at the years end.

2006 was a breakthrough year with the addition of Kenny Fenn, a 40+ year racing veteran to the crew which includes his father, Tom Greiner and long time friends Steve (Stevo) Dusenberry, Jim (Frenchman) Schrier and Sam Steckly. Another welcome addition to the plan was a partnership with Brandon Banks and a new design for the Relentless Racing chassis. Jeremy Redlinger (J Red) who was actually seen RUNNING during a crucial pit stop.

Overall, a record 9 feature wins between 3 tracks, nearly 30 heat race victories and consecutive dedication awards provide the momentum into the 2007 race season.

There is one very special member of the relentless racing team and that would be Decimus. Decimus is Matt’s boxer and you can find him at every track that Matt is running at.
